Welcome to The Goose Lodge

The Goose Lodge has been designed to sit naturally within the rural landscape with the larch waney exterior lending itself to the weather, blending in with its natural setting. The interior is made from reclaimed wood with sheep’s wool insulation to keep you cosy all year round.

 

The lodge offers a luxury experience with quality bed linen, a huge monsoon shower, handmade breakfast bar and cosy velvet vintage chairs to relax.

 

In the kitchen is a Montpelier fridge freezer, Dualit oven and grill and gas hob rings. There is a Nespresso coffee machine and a gas top Kettle too.  Relax at the oak breakfast bar and enjoy a drink as you take in the views and listen to your favourite tunes, pairing your phone to the blue tooth speaker. To cosy up, you have an Infra red heater above the window and a smart T.V. Wi-Fi is available to watch all your favourite programmes or listen to some soothing music on You-tube.

Please be aware that The Goose Lodge is not fully accessible and therefore not suitable for anyone with mobility issues.

 

A choice of different breakfast hampers can be pre – ordered as an optional extra and will be in the fridge on your arrival.

Within a few miles of the lodge are a number of wonderful award winning pubs and restaurants including The Dysart Arms, The Fox & Barrel, The Yew Tree Inn, The Little Tap and Coast. Near by Tarporley and Bunbury have lots of fantastic cafes, food stores, a bakery and a butchers just a few minutes away. Rest-assured however that if you just want to relax on site, you will find everything you need to prepare your own meals in the cabin.

Terms & Conditions

​

The Goose Lodge would like to invite all their guests to enjoy a relaxing experience with us and to this end we ask guests to respect our site, the surrounding countryside and each other whilst staying with us.

 

  1. Your booking at The Goose Lodge includes use of The Lodge along with access to the parking area and outdoor seating area next to The Lodge.

  2. Lighting of the fire pit must always be carefully observes in relation to the Lodge , only using the fire pit provided and not leaving it unattended due to the nature of the building around it.

  3. Please always observe the countryside code and consider others enjoying the countryside, close the gates especially where there is livestock and flocks around. Please leave no trace of your visit and take all litter home.

  4. The Goose Lodge can take no responsibility for the failure of services due to weather conditions, nor for any difficulties experienced when accessing or leaving the site. During the Winter months snow and ice are not uncommon: please drive carefully and responsibly at those times.

  5. At The Goose Lodge we ask guests not to play loud music or host visitors.

  6. Fireworks, Chinese Lanterns , Balloons outside and disposable barbecues are not permitted anywhere on site or in any adjoining paddocks or garden.

  7. Whilst we encourage guests to enjoy the surroundings of The Goose Lodge, please note that care must be taken as areas may be slippery, particularly when wet. Guests must not at any time climb on balustrades.

  8. The Goose Lodge always endeavours to provide all the facilities and services promoted on our website but are not liable to pay any refund should any of these fail. These severe and extreme conditions are rare, and we will endeavour to keep everything running to the best of our ability on these occasions.

 

BOOKING, ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE

  1. All bookings are considered confirmed only after payment has been received in full. We reserve the right to cancel your booking if payment conditions are not upheld. Receipt of your booking confirms your acceptance of all Terms and Conditions.

 

By making a booking, you agree that :-

a)you have read these Terms and Conditions and agree to be bound by them.;

b) you consent to our use of your information in accordance with our privacy Policy;

c) you are over 18 years old

2. Please check your booking confirmation carefully and report any incorrect or incomplete information to us immediately.

3. Your accommodation will be ready on the day of arrival by 4.00pm. Departure time is by 11.00 am on your day of departure.

4. On departure the Lodge must be left clean and tidy and cutlery/plates etc are put back as you found them. Keys must be left in the Lodge or key safe. All rubbish and recycling are to be disposed of responsibly in sealed bags in the bins provided, under the kitchen sink and outside the cabin to the right hand side in the Black bin.

 

CANCELLATION

  1. Cancellation by You

Once a booking is confirmed you are responsible for the total cost of the holiday as shown on the invoice issued at the time of booking. We therefore recommend that you take out holiday cancellation insurance. If we are notified of a cancellation , at any time up to 3 months prior to your stay, we will refund the full invoiced cost of your booking, minus the £75 handling fee.

If we are notified of a cancellation between 3months prior to and 6 weeks prior to your stay; we will refund 50% of the invoiced cost of your booking minus a £75 handling fee if the accommodation is or is not re- let.

For cancellations after the 6 weeks prior to your stay date, you will be responsible for the full cost of your original booking and will forfeit any re-fund if the hut is or is not re-let.

  1. Cancellation by us-

Extreme conditions: The Goose Lodge reserves the right to cancel a holiday if for any unforeseeable circumstances we are unable to provide safe accommodation due to extreme weather conditions, ill health fire or Government Restrictions, administration/duplication or any other extenuating circumstances you will be offered a credit against a future stay.

 

CONDUCT

1. The named person(s) booking the accommodation is responsible for all behaviour and actions of their guests while at The Goose Lodge.

2. Guests may be asked to leave the premises if their behaviour is threatening, anti-social or damaging in any way to the staff or the premises. In this circumstance your full co operation is expected.

3. Please keep any noise to a minimum after 9pm. Please respect the natural environment and our neighbours.

 

VEHICLES

  1. Visitors staying at The Goose Lodge are required to park in the designated parking space which is set aside for you.Permission must be sought for an additional car or larger vehicles.

  2. When arriving and accessing the site, please ensure all gates are closed behind you.

                  

  OCCUPANCY

  1. The number of people staying within the accommodation must at no time exceed the number stated and agreed on the booking which is 2 adults. The accommodation must not be sub- let.

  2. The owners of The Goose Lodge reserve the right to enter the accommodation at any reasonable time, and with reasonable prior notice if any urgent need were to arise( eg for health and safety reasons or urgent repair)

CARE FOR THE ACCOMODATION

  1. Your accommodation will be prepared for your arrival. The Goose Lodge expect everything to be left as you found it.

  2. In the case of any accidents on the premises these must be reported immediately to a member of staff at The Goose Lodge.

  3. The named person(s) booking the accommodation will be held responsible for paying for any breakage or damage to the property which is caused by you or any member of your party or any persons invited into the property by you. We reserve the right to take any extra payment from your credit / debit  card to cover any such costs.

  4. The named person(s) booking the accommodation will be held responsible for paying for any loss or damage to any part of the Goose Lodge and surrounding premises, or to any fixtures, fittings and equipment which are caused by any member of the party.

  5. If an exceptional level of cleaning is required after use of any of these facilities the cost will be charged to the named person.

  6. We ask that you do not bring muddy boots into the accommodation but leave them in the designated storage on the outside deck.

  7. All bed linen and towels are provided. These items must remain inside your accommodation at all times. Bedding including rugs and cushions must not be taken outside.

  8. It is the responsibility of all guests to return any items removed from any accommodation unit to its original place by the time of departure ( this includes cutlery, crockery, utensils,etc)

  9. Guests must return all furniture within the accommodation to its original position by the time of departure.

  10. Please ensure all waste is taken to the designated area (black bin outside to the right of the property) and all recycling facilities (bin under the  kitchen sink). Bin liners will be provided but please ask for more if required.

PERSONAL BELONGINGS

1. The Goose Lodge will not be held responsible for damage or loss to any personal property brought onto the premises or in guest vehicles.

2. The Goose Lodge has a 7-day lost and found policy which means we can only keep an item found for that amount of time.

3. It is the guests responsibility to check for all personal belongings before departure from The Goose Lodge.

4. Any items found after guests have departed cab be sent to the guest at their expense. Any items sent by post or courier must be paid for in advance and it is the responsibility of the guest to select a suitable carrier and appropriate insurance.

 

FIRES & SMOKING

1.The Goose Lodge takes a firm view on managing fires and smoking and ask that guests are particularly vigilant in this area. The site contains trees and hand crafted wooden accommodation. Even the smallest of informal fires can quickly get out of hand.

2. There will be no fires or barbecues other than in the designated areas and with the equipment provided, failure to observe these requirements may results in your party being asked to vacate the site immediately. These includes portable BBQ’s.

3. Only logs provided by The Goose Lodge may be used on the fire pit.

4. All guests that light fires are responsible for managing them safely and ensuring that they are extinguished after use.

5. No items of clothing must be placed on or over the fire pit.

6. We do not permit the use of candles, tealights or disposable BBQ’s anywhere on the Goose Lodge site.

7. Smoking is not permitted anywhere within the Goose Lodge buildings, walkways and is only permitted in the designated fire pit area. Please dispose of all cigarette butts responsibly in the sand bin outside the Goose Lodge, do not litter the fire pit.

Smoking is completely prohibited inside the Lodge and failure to comply will result in a charge of £250 for a deep clean of soft furnishings.  For fire regulations we are required to keep a log of all guests who will be residing at The Goose Lodge.

DOGS & PETS

  1. Dogs and other pets are strictly not permitted anywhere on The Goose Lodge site.

 

DUE CARE AND ATTENTION

  1. Whilst we encourage guests to enjoy the public areas, please note that care must be taken; walkways and stairs maybe slippery particularly when wet, footpaths and tracks maybe uneven with tree roots and stones.

  2. Nothing in these terms shall exclude or limit our liability ( or negligence of our employees or agents) or where applicable law does not permit us to restrict of exclude particular obligations or liabilities.

  3. Subject to the above paragraph we do not accept any liability for damage to any member of your party or any possessions while on or premises.

  4. You are liable for fire, damage or alternation to the Lodge whatsoever and howsoever caused by any member of your party.

 

 

COMPLAINTS

In the event that you have any complaint about your stay, please notify the Owner as soon as possible. If you do not follow this procedure, there will be less opportunity for The Goose Lodge to investigate and resolve your complaint and so make your stay as enjoyable as possible.


SPECIAL REQUESTS

If you have any special requests ( for example dietary requirements), please let us know at the time of booking. Unfortunately we can’t guarantee that they will be met and we will have no liability to you if they are not.

 

FORCE MAJEURE

The Goose Lodge will not be responsible for any failure to provide facilities contracted in the event of it prevented from doing so as a result of “Force Majeure” or any other event or circumstance beyond its control. This includes industrial disputes, strikes, war, invasion, riot, civil disobedience or disturbance, acts of terrorism, orders or regulations issued by central government, floods, fire, epidemics, pandemics, quarantine measures or travel restrictions. The Goose Lodge will not be responsible for any loss or damage or costs or refund as a result.

 

DEPOSITS

We do not operate a deposit system for The Goose Lodge

 

DECLARATION

I have read the terms and conditions of this booking and agree on behalf of all members of my party to abide by those conditions during my stay at The Goose Lodge Cheshire. I understand that the invoice must be paid on initial booking of the Lodge and failure to do so may result in cancellation of my booking. I am over eighteen years of age.
